The challenge: an expanding business, a website under strain
When TransferGo contacted DevelopPress, it was facing slow performance with its WordPress-based website as well the UI/UX was outdated.

DeveloPress & TransferGo joined the forces to rebuild the website
Our professionals worked side by side with TransferGo’s team to achieve the goals set and contributed to the four project phases:

1. Current infrastructure assessment
- Conducted a comprehensive audit of the existing website, identified technical constraints and performance bottlenecks.
- Mapped TransferGo’s new design framework into reusable Gutenberg blocks.
- Assessed the compatibility of Gutenberg with existing ACF-based content.
- Mapped out a phased transition plan without disrupting ongoing operations.
2. Migrating to Gutenberg
- Designed and developed over 170 custom Gutenberg blocks.
- Built a custom WordPress plugin for TransferGo’s content structure and business logic.
- Executed a gradual migration process, beginning with priority pages and scaling the transition site-wide.
- Addressed conflicts between ACF and Gutenberg.
3. CMS development
- Developed an automated system to dynamically generate 60,000 pages using structured content from Google Spreadsheets.
- Created real-time synchronization of currency pair pages to reduce manual workload.
- Ensured full multilingual compatibility by integrating WPML.
- Implemented advanced metadata handling.
4. Migrating to WordPress VIP
- Migrated TransferGo from WP Engine to WordPress VIP.
- Optimized website performance.
- Implemented CI/CD workflows using GitHub Actions and VIP-CLI.
- Conducted rigorous cross-device and cross-browser testing.
- Fine-tuned caching strategies, asset loading, and server configurations.
